Ring In the New Year With the Coffee Blog!

Well, the Christmas break is over and unfortunately that means back to school. But in the interests of giving you a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down, here are a handful of school-themed comic panels I drew up for the Pickerington Central school newspaper:

Comic Submissions

Well, it's true, everybody. I just recently sent out some comic samples to King Features Syndicate (which owns Zits, Mutts, Popeye, Betty Boop, etc.) and Tribune Media (which owns Dick Tracy, Little Orphan Annie, Gasoline Alley, etc.) In case you aren't familiar, syndicates are the ones who choose which comics have potential, and then they send them out to newspapers and put them on their websites. There are five major syndicates, and I'm planning on trying the other three later. These people get thousands of submissions, so I'm not expecting a whole lot, but it never hurts to try, right?

Anyway, I sent them 24 Carl the Coffee Cup comics and a character sheet. I hope you all enjoy them:

Revenge of the Tissues

This is a fake movie poster I created on Photoshop a few months ago. Hey, if this movie was out, I would go see it in an instant.

Caricatures

These are a few caricatures I drew of various people who are richer than me.

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Buyout?

Here's a doodle I drew when I heard that Disney just purchased Marvel Comics for $4 billion dollars. I don't know what this will mean for Disney or Marvel, but at least it has produced some amusing sketches.
