Yes, it seems I have committed an unforgivable sin against the Blog Gods by not posting anything in six months (!!). In a doomed attempt to redeem myself, here are a couple of random drawings from yours truly:
"Portrait of a Dog Contemplating the Dream That We Call Life"
"Too Many Drinks" "Thumbs Up" "Ralph" "Jittery Santa" "Graduation Self-Portrait" "Frustrated Cat" "The Dentist's Office"
Well, the Christmas break is over and unfortunately that means back to school. But in the interests of giving you a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down, here are a handful of school-themed comic panels I drew up for the Pickerington Central school newspaper:
Well, it's true, everybody. I just recently sent out some comic samples to King Features Syndicate (which owns Zits, Mutts, Popeye, Betty Boop, etc.) and Tribune Media (which owns Dick Tracy, Little Orphan Annie, Gasoline Alley, etc.) In case you aren't familiar, syndicates are the ones who choose which comics have potential, and then they send them out to newspapers and put them on their websites. There are five major syndicates, and I'm planning on trying the other three later. These people get thousands of submissions, so I'm not expecting a whole lot, but it never hurts to try, right?
Anyway, I sent them 24 Carl the Coffee Cup comics and a character sheet. I hope you all enjoy them:
When not drawing comics, animating cartoons or writing stories, Vincent Alexander spends his time plotting to overthrow the poultry community and fulfill his lifelong dream of being the Chicken King. More on that as it develops.
